Kid’s Activities

The Foothills Folk Art Festival invites younger guests to unleash their creativity through special activities designed to spark the imagination and nurture a love for art.

The History Museum of Catawba County will lead children in making paper flowers on the 1924 Courthouse Square. With origins dating back to the invention of paper in China more than 2,000 years ago, paper-flower making has experienced a resurgence as a sustainable art form in which people of all skill levels can create an endless variety of beautiful pieces. All supplies will be provided, and children will be encouraged to take their paper flowers—which will be perfect Mother's Day gifts—home with them.

Catawba County Library To Go, the community's mobile library, will return to the festival. Library To Go is a state-of-the-art traveling exploration station that moves beyond the library's walls and meets children and adults throughout our community, expanding access to empowering resources and programs in the areas that need them the most.
